(Phnom Penh): On the morning of Wednesday, 1 May 2024, at the VIP Terminal of Phnom Penh International Airport, His Excellency SEANG Thay, Secretary of State of Commerce, High representative of Her Excellency CHAM Nimul, Minister of Commerce, participated in the “AirAsia Cambodia Inaugural Ceremony” and launch the first domestic flight of the company, which presided over by His Excellency DR. MAO Havannall, Minister in Charge of the State Secretariat of Civil Aviation, with the participation of His Excellency SOK Soken, Minister of Tourism, Excellencies representative of the senate, National Assembly, and Representative of Ministries and Institutions of the Royal Government of Cambodia, representative of ASEAN Ambassadors to Cambodia, Neak Oknha, Oknha, Chief Executive Officer of AirAsia, and Chief Executive Officer of AirAsia of other countries, including: Malaysia, Thailand, the Philippines and Indonesia, led by Mr. TAN SRI TONY FERNANDES Founder of AirAsia Aviation Group, and the owner of Capital A, and national and international guests are from related companies.

This official inauguration is a testament to a major historical event in Cambodia's air transport sector, demonstrates the growth of Cambodia's air transport sector, and further investors' confidence in Cambodia's potential. We also hope that AirAsia's domestic flights (Phnom Penh, Siem Reap, and Sihanoukville) will contribute to the growth of tourism in Cambodia by providing more convenience for tourists to travel and save time.
